What Do You Do For A Living?
Has anyone ever asked you this? Better yet, have you ever struggled with an answer? People ask me this all the time, and over the course of 23 years I have finally formulated an answer that I’m satisfied with.
We manufacture a structural and decorative building system that is environmentally friendly and is used in the design and fabrication of displays.
Those who are familiar with our products know that it can be used to design and build a variety of different things in a variety of different markets. So why did I choose the word “display”? Well, after much thought, I came to the realization that everything built with OCTANORM® products is a display of some sort. If it has graphics or merchandise, it’s a display. A tradeshow exhibit is a display and so is a kiosk. Retail environments are filled with displays. Even a gondola can be considered a display since it displays articles for sale. You’ll find displays in grocery stores, hotels, restaurants and banks as well. OCTANORM® products have been used in all of these venues.
I could also make the argument that Cleanrooms are a display. Our products have been used for many years in the Cleanroom Industry where sterile manufacturing is on display. If you’re familiar with Cleanrooms you’ll know that they don’t have revolving doors. You can’t just come and go as you please. Therefore, much of what you see is viewed from the outside through windows like a window display; albeit a highly engineered window display.
So, what is it that you do for a living? Are you in the “Display Business” as well? If so, how many of these different displays do you make? During these trying times, diversification into some of these areas may provide you with some opportunities you may not normally have. Labor Codes
For those of you that review your estimates and sales order acknowledgements, they are going to look a little different in the next couple of weeks. OCTANORM® USA, INC. is implementing a whole new series of labor codes. There are a number of reasons for this change. The two most important being, a more accurate method of fulfilling complex orders in our production facility and the integration of a custom software program designed to assist our Partners in accurate estimates of OCTANORM® projects.
A key to all of the new labor codes will be posted on our website in very near future, please feel free in contacting your Regional Sales Manager for additional information.

The next OCTANORM® Training Seminar will be held June 14-15, 2010 in Atlanta, Georgia. This intermediate-level seminar is an excellent opportunity for designers, engineers, detailers, and project managers to learn more about the exciting products OCTANORM® has to offer.
The attendees at the seminar will be the first to experience OCTANORM®’s highly anticipated new software program, OCTAquote. Additional seminar topics include the interactive OCTAcatalog, VARIO Kits and New Parts. Attendees will enjoy the hands on experience as well as the informative tour of the OCTANORM® USA, Inc. facilities. The seminar concludes with an opportunity to show off your own creativity with OCTANORM® in our design/assembly challenge competition. It's an exciting adventure into the World of OCTANORM®!
OCTANORM® will provide hotel accommodations for Sunday, June 13th and Monday, June 14th as well as breakfast and lunch both days and dinner on Monday evening. You will only be responsible for the cost of your transportation to and from Atlanta.

Vario Kits
The new VARIO Kit “Triplex” was on display at TS2 and generated a lot of conversation. The Triplex, as with the other VARIO kits available, feature a great mix of graphic image and product display space, all designed to be portable and modular.
The VARIO kits can now be seen in our Online Showroom. These 10x10 and 10x20 kits integrate many of the VARIO portable product line displays including D400 pop ups, D100 roll up banner stands, D1 folding frames and much more.
The kits will offer our OCTANORM® Display Partners (ODP) the ability to promote and market the standard displays yet still have the versatility of adding OCTANORM® custom products on request.
If you are interested in becoming an ODP, please contact your Regional Sales Manager. For your convenience, we have made it very easy to become an ODP. We do not require that you have a showroom, we have no exclusivities and there is not a cost to become an ODP. We only ask that if we send you a lead you follow-up with OCTANORM® in mind and not sell a competitive product.
